BASU Your Signing Partner

HISTORY

On Call Notary Service was established in 1994 in Marin County to provide convenient mobile notary services at an affordable price. Based on the demanding work and family schedules of many people living in the Bay Area of Northern California and the support of local Title & Mortgage Companies, On Call Notary Service expanded their operations by establishing a loan document accommodation signing service (Bay Area Sign-Ups) in 1996. In 1999, Bay Area Sign-Ups became a statewide loan document signing company. Currently, Bay Area Sign-Ups services all of California & Nevada along with parts of Arizona.

In 2008, Bay Area Sign-Ups the statewide accommodation signing service went through a brand change to become: BASU Your Signing Partner. This branding change coincided with a new domain name for BASU’s website: BASUnow.com

HOME OFFICE

BASU operates 24 hours/7 days a week from a central office located in Long Beach, CA.

PRINCIPALS/ADVISORS

General Manager: Peter J. Moreno

Peter has over 40 years experience as a corporate trainer and Senior Executive with Fortune 500 corporations such as JCPenney, Macy’s etc. Peter trained at The Pacific Institute directly with the Founder, Lou Tice. Pete heads up all BASU operations and is also responsible for ongoing corporate projects. Pete retired from his corporate position and joined Eric at BASU in 1998.

President: Eric L. Stone

Eric received his Bachelors degrees (Sociology & English w/honors) in 1986 from California State University Dominguez Hills and was a Fullbright scholar while teaching English at the Paedagogische Hochschule in Flensburg, Germany (1988/89). Eric transformed his academic achievements into business success while serving as a Public Relations and Marketing Coordinator at the International Education Research Foundation (1990-1993) in Los Angeles. He is an active member in local and regional activities of the California Escrow Association.

Legal Liaison: Phillip H. Kalsched

Phillip is a partner with the law firm of Carle, Mackie, Power & Ross LLP, where he handles a wide range of transactions for banks, secured lenders and borrowers. He has a particular emphasis in the areas of secured and unsecured credit facilities, syndications, and acquisition financing.

Chief Financial Officer: Adam Beak

Adam earned his MBA in 1993 from California State University Sacramento. He has been a Commercial Loan Portfolio Manager for IBM Credit, ITT Commercial Finance and Deutsche Bank. Adam serves Bay Area Sign-Ups as a financial advisor and loan documentation expert.
